2024 Fall Newsletter: Kansas City

In Newsletters, Newsletters: Kansas City Office, Newsletters: Kansas City Office by Scott Dougan

As we begin to fall back into our fall routines, the summer weather fills our rearview mirrors.

The shorts get put away and we feel that cozy comfort that comes from putting on our favorite sweater, fleece, or sweatpants. Colors begin to turn, priorities shift, and we try to not look too far ahead to winter, but just enjoy the fall while it’s here. For now, things feel ‘just right’ again.

We’ve found over the years that fall brings finances back into focus for a lot of folks. After a few big summer trips or house projects, we may sheepishly revisit our bank and investment accounts to see how we’re doing. And with a presidential election on the horizon, we wonder what lies ahead in the markets and economy. It’s a time to reset on many fronts. It begs the question: “So, how ARE you doing?”

Our quest remains unchanged. We’re here to support you on your journey to and through financial independence. You wish to build and sustain a sufficient amount of assets and income sources to meet or exceed your financial and retirement goals; we also wish that for you. As such, we perform a number of tests and checks of your plan and investments to ensure you’re set up appropriately and making the most efficient use of your hard-earned resources as possible.

In this edition of the Elevated Insider, we ask the question: Should you retire your debts before retirement? We also consider how best to pair your retirement needs with your retirement assets. In either sense, we’re interested in aligning your goals and needs with your planning. The world will inevitably shift and change around us, so we need to make ongoing adjustments to remain aligned. And given that the end of the year is when many people refocus on finances, this is a great time of year to consider some of the big questions we need to address.

We hope you had a great summer and are enjoying the fall. Before you know it, we’ll have another year in the books, but not before lots of news and headlines tempt us into worry. We’ll do our part to serve you, which is an absolute privilege of ours. If you have specific needs that we can help you with, please reach out and let us know.
