Client Corner: Kent and Karla

Retirement at 65 had always been our goal. We felt confident we were financially prepared and wouldn’t need to change our lifestyle. Still, it wasn’t until we sat down with Chris Cordova that we received the confirmation we needed to move forward with peace of mind. Thanks to Melissa Ceballos, Elevated Retirement’s Director of Talent and Business Acquisition, we connected with Chris—and joining the Elevated team has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Since then, life has been an adventure. We’ve traveled to Switzerland, the Dominican Republic, Wisconsin, and California (twice!)—with trips to Oregon and Turkey still ahead. This weekend, Kent is fulfilling a long time dream: cycling in the Dolomites! But the greatest gift of retirement has been time—especially with family. My 90-year-old mother now gets more than just a rushed weekend visit, and we’re soaking up every possible moment with our thirteen grandchildren while we’re still “cool” in their eyes. We’ve logged plenty of miles hiking and biking right here in our beautiful home state, I’m catching daytime baseball games, and diving deeper into cooking—a creative passion of mine. Kent is just steps behind me and plans to retire soon as well. Being able to ski on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be a dream fulfilled for him. We look forward to more time traveling together and doing anything that keeps us outside!!
