Client Corner: Kelly and Lisa
Since retiring, my wife and I have found that life hasn’t slowed down one bit – if anything, it’s become busier and more fulfilling than ever. We’ve been embracing new adventures and making the most of our time with family, filling our days with travel, projects, and plenty of grandkid activities.
Last year, we embarked on our first guided “old folks” tour – a 13-day adventure through Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. We explored the Amazon rainforest by motorized canoe, spotting jungle wildlife on day and nighttime excursions, then flew to the Galapagos to see giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies, and iguanas, even snorkeling alongside the local sea life (mosquitoes included!). This spring, we took a repositioning cruise from Rome to Fort Lauderdale, visiting several ports before crossing the Atlantic, then wrapped it up with a relaxing beach stay and dinner with old friends.
More recently, my son and I built a steel garage at our cabin in Liberty – fully insulated and ready for winter – and this week we’re in Park City with our granddaughter. Between travels and keeping up with the ball games, dances, and recitals of our 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, retirement has been anything but quiet – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
