2025 Fall Newsletter: Salt Lake City
How are we already in the last few months of 2025? Boy this year has flown by!
Our family has been busy this Fall, mostly with sports (as usual). My son, Michael, is playing on a fall baseball team made up of kids who love the game and don’t play football. He practices a lot, but even the games are a bit more relaxed compared to Spring/Summer, which gives him a way to take sort of a break (or the only kind of break we can convince him of) while also staying active.
Our daughter, Coraline, in her junior year of high school, is once again on the varsity cheer team. So, we are at football games every Friday night, sometimes traveling as much as an hour away just to watch her cheer. When she started high school two years ago everyone warned us it would go by quickly…we’re learning just how much truth there is in that. In a few weeks, we will transition inside to basketball, and she’ll have just one more high school football season ahead of her. It’s hard to believe.
Sports are keeping me busy this fall as well. I signed on to help coach the Juan Diego High School baseball team again this year, and we’ve kept the high school boys busy with fall workouts and an occasional scrimmage. My son joins us for a lot of it, which is a lot of fun for us both. I also had the privilege of travelling to Nashville in October to play baseball with some friends I’ve met over the year through the Red Sox Fantasy Camp program. We played in the Music City Classic, an amateur baseball tournament for guys just like me. I had a blast playing with my buddies. But sadly, my tournament ended early when I collided with another player during the game and injured my ankle. I will always love playing the game, but I definitely don’t bounce back like I used to.
Whether you’re busy, or just busy relaxing, I hope you are all enjoying the season. Looking forward to chatting with you soon.
