2025 Spring Newsletter: Kansas City
Spring is here again, bringing its familiar renewal—brighter days, new beginnings, and a fresh sense of optimism after winter’s stillness.
But as nature blooms, so too does a new political season, stirring emotions that range from joy to fear. Are we entering a political and economic springtime, or is this something else? Are we pulling weeds to make room for new growth, or are we seeing the seeds of our destruction being planted right before our eyes? Whichever emotion you’re experiencing right now about the state of our world, it’s fair to say that there’s an awful lot of emoting going on in our country. People seem to be either defending and celebrating what’s happening or reeling from anxiety over what’s to come. While I can’t tell you what to believe or feel, I can offer this: where there’s uncertainty, there’s incredible opportunity for leadership and empathy. The greater the rate of change, the more we need to ground ourselves in what is most critical—our kindness toward and care for one another. Before I’d leave the house as a kid, my mom would simply beg of me to "be nice." Simple, sometimes challenging, but enduring. Be nice.
Change doesn’t occur in a linear way; it’s a zig-zag, start-stop, one step forward, two steps back kind of journey. But let’s hope we’re moving in a positive direction and that we arrive wherever that is with arms locked, collectively better off than where we were before.
Spring reminds us that no matter what the headlines are, the world keeps spinning, and opportunities for renewal and growth are all around us. Despite the headlines, life moves forward. People continue to save, invest, and retire—yes, even now. That’s why, in this spring edition, we’re sharing key strategies to help you keep your financial future secure and your goals on track.
