2026 Spring Newsletter: Salt Lake City
The first few months of 2026 were busy for me and my family.
January brought the official start of the baseball season to our household. Our son, Michael, began his regular practice schedule and he and I traveled to Phoenix for a few days to enjoy some baseball in the sunshine. I’m helping our high school baseball team again this year as the pitching coach and their practices kicked off in January as well. To top off the month, our daughter had a few cheer competitions with her high school team.
If January was busy, February stretched us thin! We traveled three of the four weekends for baseball and cheer. Michael had tournaments in St. George and Phoenix and our daughter, Coco, traveled to California for the National Cheer Competition where they qualified for day two, got to spend a few days at Disneyland and learned what it’s like to have your flight home cancelled last minute. (The joys of air travel!)
Shockingly, March slowed down…a little. Cheer season ended (at least until tryouts for next season begins in a few weeks). And, unfortunately, shortly after the tournament in Phoenix, our son was diagnosed with Little League Elbow and has been shut down from throwing or hitting for 2-3 months. He was devastated but determined. He’s following doctor’s orders 100% in the hopes of being cleared to play for the last few tournaments of their season this summer. High school baseball is in full swing (pun intended) so that has kept me busy outside of the office. And this spring weather has made it even more enjoyable.
Looking ahead, we have a family trip planned to the Bahamas for spring break (our kids finally have the same week off this year…which will likely not happen again), as well as a few weekend trips planned with the kids over the next few months. Our daughter will be wrapping up her Junior year of high school in May, putting the final year sharply in focus. Our heads and hearts are in no way prepared for this. And, hopefully, our son will get a chance to play some baseball this summer, once he’s healed.
We hope this spring and summer bring you time with family and friends, as well as a lot of sunshine and maybe a bit of travel.
