2026 Summer Newsletter: Salt Lake City
Oh boy! It’s a hot one out there this summer. I hope you’re staying cool while enjoying your summer plans.
As usual, my little family is staying very busy this summer. My daughter, Coraline, is preparing for her senior year of high school. She’s on the varsity cheer team again at her school, which comes with early morning practices almost all summer. She had a break over the 4th of July, so the four of us popped over to San Diego to celebrate the fourth there, and (of course) take in a Padres game at PetCo Park.
My son, Michael, just finished his 13U baseball season with a tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. We were out there at the same time as the College World Series and were able to attend a couple of games. Even though Michael’s season is finished, he still gets plenty of baseball each day. Not only is he continuing to work out, hit and throw, he also attends games almost every day. I was asked to be a pitching coach as part of a collegiate summer baseball league here in the valley this summer. We have games most evenings. Michael gets to hang out in the dugout with all the boys and might be having more fun than I am.
Luckily, all the baseball ends just in time for my wife, Erika, and I to escape to Hawaii for a few days later this summer to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I’ve been thinking a lot about 2006 and what young pups we were! At that time I was still so green in my career but took a leap of faith and started a firm with a few colleagues just around the time Erika and I were married. And just a few short years after that – when Erika was very pregnant, she reminds me – took another leap and started Elevated Retirement Group. I was one lucky guy meeting Erika. And the best decision of my life was marrying her. I’m certain I wouldn’t be where I am today without her love and support. Here’s to twenty more!
